Use 'an' before words that start with a vowel sound. In Spanish, 'una manzana' has no change for vowels.

Use 'a' before words that start with a consonant sound. In Spanish, 'un profesor' has no change for consonants.

For plural we use 'some' in affirmative sentences, not 'a/an/the'. In Spanish, there's no equivalent to 'some', so 'unas chicas' is often wrongly translated.

The collective noun 'children' is treated as plural in English. It's 'los niños están', not 'es' in Spanish.

In US English, the collective noun 'team' takes a singular verb. In Spanish, it's 'el equipo ha', not 'han'.

Furniture is an uncountable noun, so it takes a singular verb. In Spanish, it's 'los muebles son', which often leads to mistakes.

'News' is an uncountable noun in English and it takes a singular verb. In Spanish 'las noticias son' is plural, which often leads to mistakes.

The third person singular (he/she/it) uses 'doesn't', not 'don't'. In Spanish, 'no le gusta' is the same for all persons, which leads to confusion.

Only the third person singular (he/she/it) adds an -s in the present tense. In Spanish, 'nos gusta' changes, which often results in the incorrect addition of -s.
