In English, we often use the "Past Simple" tense to talk about actions or events that happened and were completed in the past. To make a sentence in the Past Simple, you usually need to change the verb. For regular verbs, you just add "-ed" to the base form of the verb.

Regular verbs:

  • I talked to my friend yesterday.
  • She studied for her exam last week.

Irregular verbs don't follow the same pattern:

  • He went to the store this morning.
  • They saw a movie last night.
