Articles - Free PDF Worksheets

Articles are words that define a noun as specific or nonspecific. "A" and "an" are indefinite articles used before nonspecific singular nouns (e.g. "a cat"). "The" is the definite article used before specific nouns (e.g. "the cat"). Use "a" or "an" when introducing a new noun and "the" when referring to a specific noun known to both the speaker and the listener.
